About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support development and enhancement of BSA/AML models, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer risk rating, and blockchain analytics.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and respond to time-sensitive data requests from auditors, regulators, or Compliance teams.
  • Drive automation of key compliance processes like KYC, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity reporting.
  • Experiment with and deploy AI solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering) to implement tools and processes.
  • Contribute to process improvements, code review, testing, project management, and documentation for FCC Analytics team.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in data analytics or data science, with understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and financial services.
  • Expert in compliance-related data tables and models; advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, complex joins, query optimization).
  • Proficient in data tools like SQL, Looker, advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience with automation and AI tools.
  • Strong understanding of business models (custody, staking, stablecoins, trading) and data flows.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, present findings effectively.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in financial services, crypto, startups.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, financial crimes, risk management.
  • dbt, Git, Python/scripting, software engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication for technical/non-technical audiences.
