Senior Data Scientist, Referrals

This senior data scientist will measure and forecast referral-driven acquisition, optimize campaign spend, and quantify incremental lift and long-term member value. About the role

Responsibilities

  • Define KPIs and measurement frameworks across referral campaigns and audiences.
  • Size and scope referral campaigns by translating acquisition goals into expected spend, volume, and ROI projections.
  • Build and maintain forecasting models for acquisition volume, cost, and downstream LTV under different scenarios.
  • Develop attribution approaches accounting for dual-sided incentives and organic word-of-mouth overlap.
  • Design and analyze geo experiments, holdouts, and platform lift studies to measure incremental impact.
  • Build dashboards for spend, CAC, funnel conversion, and downstream LTV by campaign.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve tracking, data quality, and spend, click, and conversion data pipelines.
  • Translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations for leadership.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in referral programs and marketing, growth, or product analytics; FinTech experience preferred.
  • Experience with marketing campaign planning and sizing, including spend, member-volume, and unit-economics projections.
  • Experience forecasting marketing or growth-channel performance and communicating uncertainty and scenario sensitivity.
  • Strong experience designing and evaluating incrementality tests, including geo experiments, holdouts, and platform lift studies.
  • Working knowledge of causal inference methods, experiment design, and holdout analysis.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling.
  • Experience building dashboards with Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Understanding of attribution in privacy-constrained, cross-device environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $133,000–$185,000.
  • Eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.

  • Hybrid in-office policy for employees near an office, with four days in the office and Fridays from home; fully remote options are also available for eligible employees.
