Senior Software Engineer – Infrastructure

Responsibilities

Graph Data Architecture

• Architect, evolve, and optimize multi-tenant graph data models, including node/edge schemas, relationship modeling, partitioning, and traversal strategies.
• Define graph-storage tenancy models, balancing shared graphs, tenant-isolated subgraphs, hybrid partitioning, and database-per-tenant deployments.
• Develop graph sharding, indexing, and high-throughput traversal architectures for low-latency queries at scale.

Backend and Data Layer Engineering

• Build backend services that interact with datastores, including APIs, data-access layers, ingestion workflows, and graph mutation/query pipelines.
• Optimize query performance through indexing, subgraph caching, tuned traversal patterns, and distributed graph execution.

Multi-Tenancy and Platform Scalability

• Own decisions around tenant boundaries, access control, resource isolation, and performance fairness.
• Implement tooling for onboarding, migrations, tenant provisioning, graph expansion, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and security teams to meet enterprise SLAs, security, and compliance requirements.

Technical Leadership

• Establish standards for graph modeling, relationship semantics, data governance, and workload observability.
• Build metrics, dashboards, anomaly detection, and traversal-cost profiling for graph workload health and performance.
• Mentor engineers in database fundamentals, scalable SaaS data patterns, and distributed systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in production SaaS environments.
• Hands-on experience designing, scaling, or operating multi-tenant databases in production.
• Strong understanding of graph modeling, node/edge schema design, indexing, and query/traversal optimization.
• Proficiency in a modern backend language such as Go, Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Strong grounding in distributed systems, partitioning, caching, and performance optimization.
• Experience making architectural decisions in fast-changing, high-scale environments.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience scaling graph-backed SaaS products for enterprise customers with large, complex topologies.
• Familiarity with distributed graph engines, distributed SQL, NoSQL, or horizontally scalable datastores.
• Experience building observability for graph workloads, including query heatmaps, traversal metrics, and cardinality analysis.
• Experience with major re-architecture efforts, such as relational-to-graph migrations, multi-tenant transitions, or large-scale migrations.

• Estimated yearly salary: $190,000–$250,000 USD.
