About the role

What You’ll Do

Establish and Lead Insights Center of Excellence

  • Own GameChanger’s market intelligence and research agenda, ensuring leadership has a clear view of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
  • Lead primary and secondary research initiatives, including quantitative surveys, qualitative research, industry analysis, and market sizing.
  • Develop frameworks to systematically track competitors, new entrants, product innovation, and structural shifts across the youth sports and sports technology landscape.
  • Source and manage external research partners, data providers, and consultants to deliver high-quality strategic insights.
  • Build institutional knowledge of the youth sports ecosystem and adjacent industries to inform strategic decision-making.

Deliver Executive-Level Strategic Insights

  • Translate complex research, data, and market signals into clear insights and strategic implications for executive leadership.
  • Prepare executive-ready analyses, presentations, and strategic narratives that inform leadership discussions and planning processes.
  • Identify key risks, opportunities, and inflection points that could shape GameChanger’s long-term growth trajectory.
  • Provide leadership with ongoing perspectives on customer behavior, competitive positioning, and industry evolution.

Inform Company Strategy & Growth Decisions

  • Partner closely with the Strategy team to inform corporate strategy, product strategy, monetization strategy, and growth initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to GMs and business leaders, operating as an internal consultant to diagnose key business questions, design research and analysis, and deliver actionable insights that inform decisions.
  • Conduct customer segmentation, behavioral analysis, and needs assessments to guide strategic priorities.
  • Support long-range planning and strategic decision-making with data-driven perspectives on market opportunities, risks, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide insights that inform partnerships, business development opportunities, and potential strategic investments.

Build Organizational Insight Capabilities

  • Establish scalable systems and frameworks for market intelligence, competitive tracking, and customer insights.
  • Act as the company’s subject matter expert on market research and strategic insights.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics, Product, Marketing, and Finance to source, aggregate, and share out insights from across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of curiosity, rigor, and evidence-based decision-making across the organization.

Who You Are

  • 10–12+ years of experience in market research, corporate strategy, consulting, strategic insights, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex research and initiatives that inform senior leadership decisions.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and compelling executive narratives.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and presenting insights to executive audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing research vendors and external partners.
  • High ownership mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience in consumer technology, SaaS, marketplace, or sports-related businesses.
  • Experience working within or alongside a larger enterprise parent organization.
  • Familiarity with syndicated research sources, market intelligence tools, and data visualization platforms.
