Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build a multi-cloud control plane for agentic workflows.
  • Design guardrails and orchestration layers that make complex AI-agent workflows production-ready.
  • Set engineering patterns and lead code reviews in a large codebase.
  • Drive ambiguous, cross-team initiatives from problem definition through measured outcomes.
  • Own operational architecture, including on-call, observability, SLOs, and blast-radius containment.
  • Ship full-stack vertical slices in React and TypeScript when needed.
  • Design distributed systems with consistency and availability tradeoffs at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience.
  • Deep experience with at least one object-oriented language, such as Java, Go, or C++.
  • Depth in at least one of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience leading engineering patterns and reviews in a large codebase.
  • Experience driving ambiguous, cross-team initiatives from problem to measured outcome.
  • Experience owning operational architecture, including on-call, observability, SLOs, and blast-radius containment.
  • Experience shipping full-stack vertical slices using React and TypeScript when needed.
  • Experience architecting distributed systems with consistency and availability tradeoffs at scale.
  • Experience directing AI coding tools with precise instructions and judgment.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $180,000–$240,000, depending on experience and leveling.
