Software Engineer, Fulfillment Core Services

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate, and maintain existing or new elements of the Fulfillment tech stack.
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
• Understand and explain tradeoffs in technical decisions.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
• Lead projects from idea through execution.
• Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents.
• Unblock, support, communicate effectively, and obtain buy-in across teams.
• Share knowledge through brown bags, tech talks, and advocacy of engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering industry experience.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming.
• Experience designing, debugging, and operating fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for API-based automation.
• Experience with common CI tools such as Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, or TeamCity, with proficiency in at least one.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing, meetings, and presentations.

Compensation

• Expected base pay range for the Seattle area: $128,000–$160,000 annually, excluding potential equity, bonus, and benefits.
• Hybrid role requiring in-office work three days per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
• Hybrid roles may work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.
