Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies to engage proactively and reactively with federally elected officials, Congressional staff, third party groups, regulatory agencies, and the Administration on issues affecting Block.
Serve as a registered lobbyist for Block, spending significant time engaging with policymakers on Capitol Hill or in the Administration.
Find creative, proactive ways to engage with elected stakeholders to deliver key messaging on issues of importance.
Maintain fluency on a wide variety of regulatory and policy issues including financial regulation, consumer protection, trade, tax, digital assets, AI/machine learning, and privacy.
Track key legislative and regulatory activity, and develop strategies to achieve positive policy outcomes.
Drive processes to develop thoughtful, inclusive, and cohesive responses to incoming policy hurdles.
Support and collaborate with colleagues across the US Policy Team.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in federal government relations, with a preference for experience in the financial services and technology sectors on Capitol Hill or within an Executive Agency.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; ability to effectively explain complicated issues and policy positions to any audience.
Experience navigating complex policy issues.
Ability to be adaptable to changing timelines and prioritize effectively.
Avid user of AI and eagerness to learn more about technology and innovation.
