About the role
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded software for body, thermal, lighting, and door functions of the Zoox vehicle.
Create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation.
Work cross-functionally with vehicle, controls, electrical, validation, and other engineering teams to deliver a seamless, highly automated vehicle experience.
Integrate supplier subsystems into the Zoox software stack.
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation.
Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
1+ years of experience developing real-time embedded software for distributed electromechanical systems.
Strong C++ and C programming experience, including object-oriented programming.
Experience with embedded microcontrollers and/or microprocessors, such as ARM or PowerPC.
Understanding of sensors, motors, and actuators.
Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and system debugging.
Nice-to-Haves
Basic knowledge of control systems for electromechanical systems.
Experience with CAN and LIN analysis and debugging tools, including PCAN, CANalyzer, or CANape.
Build autonomy software and sensor integration for self-driving mining vehicles, covering perception, localization, mapping, planning, and controls. Requires 5-10+ years in robotics/autonomy, C++/Python, ROS, and hands-on sensor fusion experience.
