About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement hardware and software systems for comprehensive performance and reliability validation of autonomous flying products.
  • Develop and execute test plans and testing infrastructure to enable rapid design iteration and product validation.
  • Analyze data, calculate statistics, and document results to explain trends and inform design improvements.
  • Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and help develop process and design mitigations for system issues.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide design-for-reliability input throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Systematic approach to problem solving and rapidly identifying issues within electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong interest in driving failure analyses to true root cause.
  • Experience with Python or other programming languages for test automation, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute across multiple technical domains.
  • Excellent project management, written and verbal communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of stress, environmental, and accelerated life testing methods for assessing product durability and reliability.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $47/hr for undergraduate students, $53/hr for graduate students, and $58/hr for PhD students.
  • Compensation may vary based on skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, experience, and regional location.
