About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of fraud strategists, focusing on their professional growth and fostering a data-driven culture.
  • Own the end-to-end fraud prevention lifecycle, including new user onboarding, offboarding, and funds recovery.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations to develop and tune fraud prevention systems, aligning risk appetite with internal and external requirements.
  • Analyze performance metrics, loss trends, account activity, and portfolio trends to identify opportunities to reduce fraud losses.
  • Understand and improve fraud controls and strategies; collaborate with core risk teams to mitigate risks.
  • Communicate effectively with internal leadership, external users, financial partners, and regulators.
  • Drive innovative, scalable fraud strategies across products like Treasury, Issuing, Capital, Crypto, and Stablecoins; leverage AI technologies to accelerate execution and improve outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Financial Services, Payments, or FinTech.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, recruiting, developing, and managing diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex ideas in high-stakes situations internally and externally.
  • Decisive yet open to learning; able to make critical decisions with incomplete information.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and execute on scaled, high-complexity cross-functional projects with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Champion for AI and automation; actively applies AI-powered tooling to accelerate work, reduce toil, and improve decision quality at scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong data visualization skills and willingness to use data and AI tools for analysis and decisions.
  • Experience in a high-growth technology company managing risk at scale.
  • Experience working in tech or fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Experience building scaled systems to prevent bank account fraud, issuing fraud, and/or crypto/stablecoin fraud.
  • Expertise with quantitative tools such as Python or R.
