Senior QA Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

Automation and Framework Ownership

• Own and evolve Tulip’s Cypress and TypeScript end-to-end automation framework, expanding coverage across critical product surfaces.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback loops for engineering teams.
• Research and implement load and performance testing strategies to ensure system reliability at scale.

AI-Powered Quality

• Apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate test generation, triage failures, and improve coverage velocity.
• Identify opportunities to use AI for intelligent failure analysis, anomaly detection, and AI-assisted code review for test suites.
• Execute exploratory, regression, and manual tests on new features to build domain expertise and validate automation coverage.

Technical Leadership and Cross-Functional Impact

• Mentor QA teammates on automation best practices, lead test plan reviews, and improve quality visibility across the organization.
• Lead cross-functional quality initiatives by coordinating with engineers across product teams, aligning on testing strategy, and driving projects from scoping through delivery.
• Advocate for quality in engineering planning, ensuring testability and quality standards are embedded early in the development process.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of QA experience, combining manual testing and automation.
• Hands-on expertise with Cypress and TypeScript or JavaScript automation frameworks.
• Solid experience with API testing tools such as Postman, ideally including automated API tests.
• Strong exploratory and manual testing skills for complex SaaS products.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools such as Mabl, Momentic, Rainforest QA, or LLM-based assistants such as Claude to improve testing quality, efficiency, or coverage.
• Experience leading quality initiatives formally or informally, including framework migrations, rollouts, cross-team testing strategies, and alignment between QA and engineering.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing or implementing performance and load testing strategies.
• Exposure to Playwright, Selenium, or Python.
• Interest in IoT technologies or embedded systems.
• Experience applying AI to intelligent failure triage, anomaly detection, or AI-assisted code review for test suites.
