Localization Manager, Italian

Responsibilities
- Partner with the Country Manager and functional leads across Marketing, Legal, Business Operations, Policy, Communications, Community, and Supply to devise market strategies aligned with company goals.
- Adapt global product strategies and updates for the Italian market, and share local business insights with regional and global localization leadership.
- Develop language and cultural strategies that support international growth and authentic user experiences.
- Own localization of product naming and creative copy, representing local teams and supporting brand development in international markets.
- Research international user needs with Consumer Insights and Research teams.
- Lead localization quality improvement initiatives and own quality strategy across platforms.
- Manage translation and quality-assurance vendors, review metrics and root-cause analyses, and drive improvements.
- Coordinate language feedback from users and employees.
- Develop and maintain linguistic and cultural standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Creative teams on content and supervise the local copywriter.
- Work with Localization Program Managers and Linguistic QA Managers to ship high-quality localized products.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product localization, including ownership of localization strategy for international launches and management of language quality and content localization.
- Fluency in English and native-level Italian knowledge.
- Experience developing market strategies informed by market research and data analysis.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, partnership-building, and initiative-driving skills.
- Strategic and tactical execution skills, including working independently in ambiguous environments.
- Understanding of UI/UX localization, including placeholders, tags, and smart counts.
- Experience with CAT tools, internationalization libraries, CLDR standards, and LLM-based machine translation.
- Strong project or program management and stakeholder management experience across teams and time zones.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and leadership levels.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
Compensation
- Annual base pay range: €55,000–€65,000 EUR.
- May also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and employee travel credits.
