About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build new features in our web platform to help farmers better understand their data.
  • Develop for our backend, frontend, UI/UX, and database.
  • Ship scalable software that analyzes hundreds of millions of fruit in a farm.
  • Wrangle large amounts of fruit data (on the scale of billions).
  • Iterate quickly on customer feedback.
  • Maintain and develop our cloud infrastructure.
  • Optimize systems to be fast (i.e. query and calculate statistics for millions of fruit at a time).

Requirements

  • Comfortable working with cloud (Google Cloud), React frontend, Python/Flask backend, and databases (PostgreSQL).
  • Hands-on experience building production-quality web apps at scale.
  • Hard worker with relentless persistence.
  • Comfortable moving fast, learning new things, and working with high autonomy.
  • Comfortable working on all parts of the stack.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience building web apps around very large amounts of data.
  • Experience building bespoke RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with GIS data and systems.
  • Experience with data security and permissions management.
