Senior Crypto Threat Analyst - Terrorism

Leads autonomous intelligence research into cryptoasset-enabled terrorist financing, investigating actors, networks, wallets, and typologies. About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead counter-terrorism financing (CTF) research and investigations into cryptoasset activity linked to terrorist organizations, facilitators, propaganda and fundraising ecosystems, and operational support networks.
  • Identify terrorist-financing typologies and maintain a comprehensive view of evolving CTF trends.
  • Work across UN, US, UK, EU, and relevant domestic counter-terrorism designation regimes, aligning intelligence outputs with applicable legal definitions, evidentiary expectations, and customer obligations.
  • Identify and integrate entities, wallet clusters, and illicit behaviors into the intelligence dataset.
  • Represent CTF intelligence capabilities in client briefings, training sessions, and industry forums for compliance teams, regulators, and public-sector partners.
  • Support public-sector partners with intelligence to help disrupt digital-asset facilitation networks.
  • Convert investigative findings into scalable outputs, including typologies and detection logic.

Requirements

  • Experience in intelligence, threat analysis, financial crime, OSINT, or related investigative fields, including illicit or terrorist financing.
  • Experience in a senior or highly autonomous role, with independent judgment and strategic decision-making.
  • Understanding of cryptoassets, blockchain analysis, and on-chain tracing tools.
  • Experience producing clear, evidence-based intelligence reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to use Python, SQL, or AI-assisted querying to extract and analyze blockchain or open-source data.
  • Strong analytical judgment when handling sensitive or uncertain intelligence.
  • Experience with OSINT research across multiple languages and jurisdictions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across global, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to accelerate research workflows, pattern identification, OSINT processing, and written outputs.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD or advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience investigating terrorist or sanctioned actors’ use of cryptoassets.
  • Fluency or working proficiency in multiple languages relevant to terrorism or illicit-finance research.
  • Publications, briefings, or media contributions on threat finance or cryptoasset misuse.
  • Understanding of obfuscation techniques used by illicit actors.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $175,000–$215,000 annual salary.
  • Hybrid working, with the option to work from almost anywhere for up to 90 days per year.
