About the role
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a connective bridge with the Insurance Product org, linking technical analysis details to broader operational and financial analytics for business and financial context.
Collaborate closely with the Insurance Product team to align on analytical requirements and measures of success for new and ongoing initiatives.
Partner with other analytics teams (Sales & Marketing, Claims, Service) as the advanced-analytics resource on complex, specialized projects.
Build comprehensive monitoring frameworks for insights on results and trends; provide recommendations on product and strategy to impact growth, retention, and profitability.
Independently analyze current countrywide programs to quantify success and identify opportunities for enhancements in growth and profitability.
Architect end-to-end analytical frameworks for complex business issues, including development and refinement of predictive models.
Proactively identify systemic process and data gaps across the insurance lifecycle, mapping ripple effects and trade-offs of solutions.
Propose new ideas for analysis and leverage insights to align with or identify opportunities in current and future strategies.
Conduct competitor research using various tools to monitor industry results and trends.
Serve as a technical leader across the analytics team, providing guidance, raising the analytical floor through collaboration, and using influencing and storytelling skills to shape business decisions.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance products, preferably personal lines property and/or auto insurance.
Advanced analytical thinking and comfort evaluating success of countrywide insurance product programs against targets.
Expert-level mastery of SQL.
Experience building and refining predictive models in Python or R.
Track record of identifying structural process gaps, proposing solutions, and influencing business decisions.
Experience gathering requirements and building dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, or LookerStudio.
Able to conduct cost-benefit analyses to inform strategic decisions.
Strong organizational and time management skills with high autonomy on complex initiatives.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
CPCU or equivalent insurance designation and/or passing of actuarial exams preferred.
Staff Analyst on the Finance & Strategy team responsible for owning analytical frameworks, designing standardized reporting, building business cases with ROI analysis, and providing data-driven strategic guidance to leadership on insurance operations and growth. Requires expert SQL, advanced Looker Studio, insurance domain expertise, and the ability to lead ambiguous projects.
