Contracts Manager, EMEA

Manages the full lifecycle of complex commercial and procurement contracts for technology transactions, customers, vendors, and strategic partners across EMEA. The role requires strong SaaS and commercial contracting expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and at least 8 years of related experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, analyze, negotiate, and complete complex commercial transactions with enterprise customers, vendors, and strategic partners, including IP licensing agreements.
  • Develop scalable solutions to improve contracting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business units and legal team members to streamline contract management processes, identify potential risks, and improve contract-handling efficiency.
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Business Operations, Research, and Procurement teams to achieve business objectives and provide strategic, business-minded, solutions-focused counsel.
  • Partner with in-region counsel and lead counsel on regional legal-matter triage, prioritization, and coordination between regional and global teams.
  • Drive the regional rollout of process improvements, policy updates, and global programs, including planning and facilitating local enablement sessions.
  • Contribute across other areas of the legal function.

Requirements

  • Substantive knowledge of software and SaaS agreements, reseller agreements, services agreements, strategic partnerships, and general commercial contract terms.
  • Ability to independently draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and procurement contracts.
  • Experience managing the full contract lifecycle for technology transactions, sales organizations, and/or partnerships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity and a strong understanding of business ethics.

Nice-to-Haves

  • 8+ years of related contract management experience, including at least 5 years supporting technology transactions, sales organizations, and/or partnerships.
  • Experience at a fast-paced technology startup.
  • Experience working within a global or distributed legal team and aligning local needs with centralized priorities.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while keeping global stakeholders informed and exercising sound escalation judgment.
  • Strong async communication and proactive status-update habits, including experience working with remote managers across time zones.
  • Ability to identify and implement efficient processes and policies.
  • Preference for concise, straightforward explanations over legalese.
  • Comfort operating outside areas of expertise and in uncharted legal territory.
  • Ability to thrive on cross-functional teams building frontier technologies and develop a deep understanding of technical teams and products.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: £140,000–£180,000 GBP.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
  • Visa sponsorship may be available depending on the role and candidate.
