About the job
Responsibilities
- Create and design key user-facing features and components of the data curation platform end to end, from concept to production.
- Define design principles for an enterprise platform and improve clarity and confidence in high-stakes workflows.
- Establish and evolve a scalable design system, style guide, and illustration language.
- Deliver production-ready icons, illustrations, and motion assets.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance user needs with technical constraints.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to understand pain points and validate solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams on long-term strategy and short-term deliverables.
- Help establish the design culture as an early design team member.
- Design technical workflows for setting up, launching, monitoring, and intervening in long-running curation and training jobs.
- Design data visualizations that make dataset composition, quality, and cost understandable.
- Design onboarding and integration flows for bringing customer data into the platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing digital products.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills.
- High visual craft, including the ability to produce production-ready iconography, illustration, and interface details.
- Track record of creating beautiful, intuitive motion design that clarifies product behavior.
- Experience creating and evolving scalable design systems and style guides.
- Experience simplifying complex technical concepts into intuitive user experiences.
- Experience designing data-dense interfaces and data visualizations.
- Experience working with cross-functional partners across multiple use cases and user types, including enterprise technical users, ML researchers, and scientists.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Figma and other prototyping software.
- Comfort working in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment.
- Ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term vision.
- Self-motivated problem-solving ability and effectiveness working independently and collaboratively.
Nice to Have
- Ability to implement designs using HTML and CSS and ship front-end code alongside engineers.
- Experience using AI tools to prototype and implement designs.
- Experience designing platform workflows for ML engineers and researchers.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $180,000–$250,000.
