Alerts

In short: An alert watches for newly posted jobs matching criteria you confirm. It is the reason to sign in when you want Hotfix to keep looking after you leave.

Create an alert

Run a standard or AI search, then choose Create alert. Review the Looks for criteria and confirm.

You need a query or at least one job function. Hotfix assigns the alert name automatically. Criteria are fixed after creation, so create another alert when you want to watch something different.

Signed-in users can have up to five alerts, including paused alerts.

What matches

Alerts use structured criteria such as query text, job function, location, work type, salary floor, and named employers. Your resume, applications, and watchlist never participate in matching.

An alert created from AI Search uses the structured criteria Hotfix read from the prompt. Soft preferences can rank that search, but they do not become alert rules.

Alerts only notify on jobs posted after creation. Existing search results do not notify retroactively.

Delivery

Each newly posted match creates one notification in the Hotfix bell. A job matching several alerts still notifies once.

Same-day delivery can also use:

• Browser or iPhone push when permission is enabled
• Email matches when enabled under Account → Alerts

Match email is off by default. Pausing an alert stops delivery on every channel.

Hotfix limits the number of match notifications created for one user each day. Additional matches are skipped rather than queued.

Alerts and the watchlist

Alerts find future jobs matching a search. The watchlist saves individual jobs you already chose.

A match does not add a job to your watchlist, and watching a job does not create notifications.

Manage alerts

Open Account → Alerts to pause, resume, or delete an alert and manage match email.
