About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly revenue close, including flux analysis, deferred revenue review, renewals reconciliation, and reconciliation between internal systems.
- Research and document accounting positions for complex, non-routine transactions, including contract modifications, variable consideration, new product offerings, and warrant-related entries.
- Prepare and review stock-based compensation accounting on a quarterly basis, including journal entries, disclosures, and variance analysis.
- Prepare group financial statements, including consolidation and entity-level reporting required for lender compliance.
- Draft, maintain, and evolve the ASC 606 revenue recognition policy memo and related revenue playbook, keeping both current with business and product changes.
- Advise cross-functional partners—Finance, Legal, Sales Operations, and Product—on accounting implications of business decisions, contract structures, and new go-to-market offerings.
- Serve as the primary preparer and day-to-day liaison with external auditors for revenue and equity-related items, including PBC management and audit readiness.
- Translate complex technical accounting concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-accounting stakeholders and leadership.
- Use AI tools to accelerate technical research, memo drafting, and close process improvements.
- Support SOX-readiness by maintaining strong controls and documentation across all owned workstreams.
- Contribute to special projects, system enhancements, and ad hoc analyses as the business scales.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with substantial hands-on technical accounting work.
- Big 4 or public accounting audit background.
- Deep knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, including multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, SSP analysis, and contract modifications.
- Experience with stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718) and equity administration workflows.
- Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements.
- Proven ability to research and apply FASB ASC guidance, evaluate complex accounting issues, and document well-supported positions in clear memos.
- Strong Excel skills; ability to manage and reconcile large data sets across multiple systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to distill complex accounting concepts for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
