Process Engineer
Provo, UTOnsite
Summary
Design, stabilize, and scale high-throughput manufacturing lines producing customized dental products. Own material flow, exception handling, rework loops, and process reliability across robotic and manual operations.
About the role
What You'll Do
- Design processes around kickbacks / reworks and other exceptions and manual material flow
- Own process flow for any manual manufacturing operations
- Maintain simple, clear documentation to enable rapid training of operators
- Run continuous improvement projects to improve key metrics
- Ensure lines are balanced and manufacturing cells and process are capable of hitting targets
What We're Looking For
- Systemic Root Cause Analysis: Expert at investigating material flow disruptions or lost parts to identify the failure point and implementing procedural updates to prevent recurrence.
- Non-Conforming Material Management: Skilled at designing robust rework loops and bypass stations that allow for the disposition of rejected parts without bottlenecking the main automated line.
- Process Standardization: Experienced in creating simple, repeatable workflows and establishing 5S, labeling, and organizational standards for the factory floor.
- Proactive Metric Ownership: Ability to identify and track critical KPIs (e.g., First Pass Yield, Rework Cycle Time) to address process drift before it impacts production targets.
- Logistical Flow Design: Proven experience managing complex material movement and "chain of custody" for parts as they transition between automated stations and manual quality checkpoints.
