About the role
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts across the business, including customer agreements, MSAs, SaaS subscriptions, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor contracts, and create new form agreements where none exist
- Partner closely with the sales team as a responsive, solution-oriented advisor who helps close deals, not slow them down
- Build and maintain scalable legal infrastructure: standard templates, a negotiation playbook, approval workflows, and a contract management system
- Provide pragmatic legal and regulatory guidance to teams across the company, from early-stage project development through launch
- Stay current on laws and regulations relevant to AI products, including data privacy, IP, and consumer protection, and ensure we are operating in compliance
- Manage outside counsel relationships and keep legal spend focused and efficient

- Have 4+ years of legal experience with a strong track record drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- Are comfortable being the only lawyer in the room and making pragmatic calls independently
- Bring a generalist mindset and are willing to tackle problems outside your core expertise
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams and build trust quickly across functions
- Operate well in fast-moving, high-growth environments and can balance attention to detail with the pace of the business
- Use AI tools fluently and have a track record of using them to improve efficiency and process
Bonus Points If You
- Have prior in-house experience at a B2B SaaS or AI company
- Have built legal infrastructure from scratch, including templates, playbooks, and contract systems
- Understand how AI technologies intersect with privacy, IP, and competition law
- Have experience navigating international legal and regulatory requirements
