Electrical Engineer
Design and develop embedded hardware systems for medical devices, from schematic capture and PCB layout through testing and manufacturing. Requires 4+ years of hardware development experience and strong skills in board bring-up and debugging.
Responsibilities
- Drive the electrical design of embedded systems, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout for multi-layer, high-density boards
- Work at all stages of the product development process, from exploration and prototyping to detailed design, testing, and ramping to mass production
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and other electrical engineers on system architecture and integration
- Ensure design quality and meeting medical device regulatory requirements with clear documentation and robust testing
- Support manufacturing and sustaining engineering by improving designs for reduced cost or improved manufacturability, supporting process or test development, and assisting with failure analysis down to the component level
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in hardware development or embedded systems design
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout for multi-layer boards
- Experience with microcontroller-based system design (ARM Cortex-M or similar from companies like Nordic, STM, TI, etc.) and standard digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, and rework on high density designs (0201, BGA, etc.)
- Proficient with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, soldering equipment and hot-air rework stations
Nice-to-Haves
- Proficiency with Altium Designer
- Experience with designs including battery management, Bluetooth LE, high-voltage circuits, and analog design
- Experience working in medical device development or, alternatively, within another highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, etc.)
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and familiarity with certification processes (FCC, CE, UL)
- Basic proficiency in Python for test automation or C/C++ for firmware modifications to aid in bring-up and testing
- Experience transitioning designs to manufacturing and applying DFM best practices
Hardware Operations Manager
Lead hardware NPI programs and sustain engineering for medical devices, managing cross-functional teams across US and Asia while integrating software platforms with hardware products. Requires 5+ years in hardware operations or TPM and a bachelor's in engineering or related field.
First Manufacturing Engineer
Lead manufacturing for robotic solar farm construction systems, scaling from prototype to production while collaborating with design, supply chain, and vendors. Requires 4-8 years bringing complex electromechanical products to production.
