Front-End Engineer

Build and own polished, accessible front-end experiences for an AI-native enterprise SaaS product. The role requires several years of modern JavaScript or TypeScript experience, strong UI fundamentals, API integration skills, and comfort with realtime interfaces and AI-assisted development.

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build responsive, accessible, and scalable user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
  • Develop and maintain a shared component library or design system.
  • Integrate REST, SSE, and GraphQL APIs and services.
  • Build realtime, streaming AI-first components.
  • Use AI-assisted tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, linting, and code review.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate wireframes into production-ready features.
  • Optimize performance, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, responsive layouts, load times, and interactions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable code; participate in code reviews; and help define front-end architecture and best practices.

Requirements

  • Several years of professional front-end engineering experience or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, such as React and Next.js.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS or CSS-in-JS, responsive design, DOM, browser behavior, layout, and performance.
  • Experience integrating APIs and working alongside backend teams.
  • Experience with realtime, streaming AI-first components.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and experience implementing wireframes or mockups with designers.
  • Familiarity with version control, testing, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Willingness to adopt AI-augmented engineering workflows.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building conversational or chat-based applications with complex multi-turn conversation state and dynamic message flows.
  • Experience building or contributing to design systems or component libraries.
  • TypeScript experience or willingness to adopt it.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility, cross-browser support, and responsive design at scale.
  • Experience in a fast-moving startup or AI-driven product environment.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating UI constraints and tradeoffs.

Compensation

  • Estimated yearly salary: $160,000–$230,000 USD.
