About the role
Responsibilities
Editorial
- Own how Scribe is perceived by core audiences: enterprise buyers, investors, and top talent. Shape the narrative, track how it's landing, and continually refine it.
- Manage the full lifecycle of executive and brand opportunities: evaluate inbound speaking invitations, proactively identify opportunities for founders, exec team, and Scribe.
- Develop abstracts and prepare spokespeople with a clear framework for determining valuable stages.
Communications
- Own external communications strategy and manage PR agency relationship. Set the narrative, define the audience, build systematic news jacking.
- Define purpose for every announcement, amplify it, and measure against it.
- Develop and maintain playbooks for reputational moments, news cycles, and potential crises.
Brand
- Partner closely with CEO to scale her platform as founder and thought leader: develop ideas, draft/edit posts, ensure consistent authentic presence across LinkedIn, X, and media.
- Ensure every public appearance reflects the brand and advances the market story. Expand to other founding/executive team members over time.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree
- 6-8+ years of professional experience spanning editorial, communications, and/or brand
- Exceptional writer across formats and audiences (press releases, LinkedIn/X posts, founder talking points, long-form thought leadership, crisis statements)
- Editorial sensibility to assess story fidelity and substance
- Clear framework for measuring communications impact beyond vanity metrics and developing distribution strategy
- Comfortable working directly with founders to develop/refine public voice
- Deep understanding of enterprise buyers, investors, top talent audiences
- Startup experience operating with lean resources
Nice to Have
- Experience at high-growth tech company through inflection point (fundraise, IPO, major product launch)
- Exposure to analyst relations
- Background in writing, literature, or history
