About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure using Pulumi, focusing on reliability, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
- Operate and improve Kubernetes clusters: workload scheduling, resource management, networking, and observability.
- Own and optimize GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for fast builds, tight feedback, and safe deployments.
- Harden infrastructure security and compliance, supporting SOC 2 and HIPAA audit readiness.
- Support reliable data engineering workflows and data pipeline infrastructure.
- Deploy and maintain LLM tooling for prompt tracing, evaluation, and observability.
- Manage secure, zero-trust networking via Tailscale.
- Design, document, and test disaster recovery and incident response processes.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, Cognito, Aurora, RDS, Lambda, VPC).
- Proficiency with Kubernetes in production, including debugging at scale.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK).
- Comfort with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD systems.
- Security-minded approach: least privilege, secrets management, SOC 2/HIPAA compliance.
- Solid observability experience with Prometheus and backend instrumentation.
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools like Snowflake and Apache NiFi.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; self-directed project ownership.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Tailscale or zero-trust networking.
- Ability to read/write backend code in Scala or Java.
- CKA certification.
- Prior work in healthcare/regulated industry with SOC 2 or HIPAA.
- Experience with LLM observability tools (Langfuse, Phoenix, Helicone).
