About the role
Responsibilities
- Support and grow the US ambassador network
- Act as the main point of contact for US-based ambassadors
- Help identify and onboard new ambassadors in key cities
- Coach ambassadors on running high-quality events
- Work closely with the Ambassador Program Manager
- Organize and host community events across the West Coast
- Set the standard for what a good n8n event looks like
- Support events tied to n8n leadership visits
- Contribute to larger initiatives like future US conferences
Requirements
Must-have:
- Based in San Francisco or the broader West Coast area; San Francisco is the center of gravity for this role and requires regular presence and local network building
- Experience in a community role at a tech company with developer tools or infrastructure DNA
- Experience with developer-focused event formats (hackathons, workshops, meetups)
- Strong event organization and hosting skills; comfortable being a public face at events and on camera
- DevRel or evangelist mindset: high energy, genuinely in the space, able to represent n8n authentically
- Strong communicator with a finger on the pulse; able to translate community insights back to the team
- Highly autonomous; comfortable operating independently with a Europe-based team on a 9-hour time difference; willing to start some days early to maintain overlap
- Startup mindset: willing to move fast and figure things out at pace
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working with ambassadors or community contributors
- Familiarity with open source communities and their dynamics
- Prior experience with n8n or comparable workflow automation tools
- Data-literate; comfortable tracking community health metrics and sharing insights proactively
