Summary

Process daily operations for a commercial insurance agency serving the self-storage industry. Manage book of business, handle renewals, quotes, policy changes, and client needs using Applied Epic.

About the role

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Process applications, prepare quotes & proposals, issue policies, certificates, endorsements, billing, ACORD forms, policy changes to clients.
  • Manage assigned book of business.
  • Gather necessary information to process insurance renewals and new business.
  • Assist with claim processing.
  • Explain products, services, premiums, and answer questions from prospects and customers.
  • Maintain product knowledge.
  • Maintain the Applied EPIC Agency Management System records in an up-to-date manner.
  • Handle premium financing, collecting policy premiums and processing to carriers.
  • Identify and address the client’s needs and fill any coverage or policy gaps that are recognized.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Property & Casualty License required; accreditations desirable (CISR, CIC, CRM, CPIA…).
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Self-starter – ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills.
  • Good familiarity with office software applications – G Suite knowledge is a plus; Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of common business structures.
  • Organizational skills, including maintaining statement of values.
  • Required: Experience with Applied Epic.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dedicated to completing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability and desire to learn new things.
  • Commercial insurance experience - 3+ years experience required.
