Builder in Residence, Ghost
Builds reference apps, integrations, and demos for Ghost (ephemeral Postgres for AI agents), creates technical content/tutorials, engages developer community, and provides product feedback. Requires PostgreSQL comfort, agent stack experience, and public shipping track record. Bay Area based.
What You'll Own
-
Reference implementations: Shipping sample apps that demonstrate what Ghost uniquely enables (agent memory across sessions, forkable preview databases per PR, ephemeral Postgres per end-user). Pick, build, and publish.
-
Integrations and public GitHub: Maintaining integrations with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, MCP servers, agent frameworks (Mastra, LangGraph, Vercel AI SDK). Quick integration for new agent tools.
-
Technical content: Posts, READMEs, tutorials, videos for each build. Code first, concise and runnable.
-
Ghost storytelling: Writing introducing Ghost, explaining MCP-native/ephemeral value, positioning in agent stack (blog posts, talks, videos).
-
Community presence: Active in GitHub issues/Discord, unblocking developers (reply then PR).
-
Product feedback: Surfacing DX issues from building to inform engineering fixes.
What We're Looking For
-
Demonstrated experience shipping public software (open source, side projects, integrations).
-
Comfort with PostgreSQL (indexes, transactions, debugging slow queries).
-
Hands-on with modern agent stack (Claude Code/Cursor, MCP, LLM-in-loop builds).
-
Strong technical writing (blog posts, tutorials, READMEs).
-
Bias to ship over polish.
-
Thoughtful AI tool use for building/research/content.
Strong Candidates May Also Have
-
Track record maintaining open source projects with users/contributors.
-
Audience in AI developer community (GitHub, X, YouTube, Discord).
-
Prior software engineer, Developer Advocate, or solutions engineer experience.
-
Familiarity with agent/AI ecosystem (vector DBs, embeddings, frameworks, eval tools).
