About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Steno’s court reporter and provider billing function, one of the most operationally critical areas.
- Own the billing engine: rate cards, vendor compensation, multi-state billing structures.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Product on billing systems and tools.
- Build and lead a high-performing billing team: manage, mentor, coach with autonomy and accountability.
- Identify broken workflows, design scalable systems and playbooks for efficiency.
- Navigate jurisdiction-specific billing rules, multi-market rate structures, and fast-moving product environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in billing, accounting, or finance operations (ideally legal services, court reporting, multi-vendor or two-sided marketplace).
- Strong people leader: coach, develop, hold high bar, create clarity for team.
- Deep expertise in rate cards and vendor compensation models.
- Ability to simplify complex, multi-state processes into clear, scalable workflows.
