About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own vehicle-level safety cases for driving functions and platform integration
  • Translate safety analysis into clear, implementable safety requirements and constraints
  • Apply ISO 26262 Part 3 (Concept Phase), Part 4 (System Development), and Part 9 (analysis & decomposition)
  • Work across vehicle features (braking, steering, ADAS, body functions) to identify risks and define mitigations
  • Hands-on development of safety artifacts aligned to road-driving features (e.g., hazard analysis, FMEA, safety case structures)
  • Collaborate with HW, SW, and integration teams to ensure safety is correctly implemented end-to-end
  • System level working knowledge and good exposure to HW FMEA's for vehicle safety case measures
  • Support vehicle bring-up and validation with safety checks aligned to system behavior
  • Create and maintain safety artifacts (hazard analysis, FMEA, safety case, traceability)
  • Experience with or willingness to support mining / off-road vehicle safety programs
  • Familiarity with ISO 19014 or ISO 13849
  • Exposure to system-level hazard analysis and safety requirements for heavy machinery

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in functional safety or systems engineering, preferably within an OEM or Tier-1 ADAS program
  • Hands-on experience in vehicle-level safety case development
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and road vehicle features enablement

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in OEM / Tier-1 / vehicle programs preferred
  • Experience with HARA/HAZOP, System FMEA, and safety case derivation
  • Good understanding of vehicle systems (ADAS, braking, steering, control systems)
  • Ability to bridge system, hardware, and software interactions

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $113,800 - $250,000 USD annually
