About the role
Responsibilities
Build and scale core parts of the mobile and web apps in React Native, including entry building, review, placement, and tracking throughout the whole lifecycle.
Investigate and resolve critical issues in the React Native client, and implement guardrails to prevent recurrence.
Lead design reviews for initiatives spanning iOS, Android, and React Native clients, highlighting trade-offs, risks, and failure modes.
Partner with backend, product, and design teams on entry placement, confirmation, slip changes, errors, and bet history to ensure a fast and consistent experience.
Turn ambiguous, cross-team goals into concrete plans with milestones and clear owners.
Use data from product analytics, error dashboards, and session replays to validate fixes and catch regressions early.
Coach other engineers on design reasoning and ownership; create reusable patterns that other teams adopt.
Anticipate and mitigate risks in shared systems before they impact other teams or customers.
Requirements
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time in React Native and a solid understanding of the native iOS/Android layers.
Track record of solving cross-cutting or ambiguous problems spanning multiple services, teams, or platforms.
Experience leading technical initiatives (e.g., performance, reliability, developer velocity) with measurable impact.
Comfort translating high-level goals into executable plans with milestones that gain team alignment.
Collaborative coaching mindset that improves other engineers through reviews and discussions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical trade-offs to product, design, and engineering teams.
Experience with mobile app performance, testability, and shipping reliable features at scale.

Compensation and Benefits
Target base salary: $150,000 - $220,000 plus equity.
