About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own supplier quality for steel fabrication and building systems suppliers feeding the modular build.
  • Audit fabrication shops on weld quality, dimensional control, and coating systems before and during production.
  • Run source inspections on fabricated assemblies so defects get caught at the shop, not at the site crane.
  • Standardize the quality requirements flowdown so every fabricator builds to the same bar.
  • Bring shops up to standard rather than just documenting that they miss it.

Requirements

  • Experience in quality assurance in steel fabrication: welds, dimensions, coatings.
  • Ability to read weld procedure specifications and structural drawings fluently.
  • Experience rejecting fabricated work and managing the schedule fallout it caused.

Nice-to-Haves

  • AWS CWI certification.
  • AISC-certified shop experience.
  • NDE methods.
  • Modular construction QA.
