About the role
Responsibilities
Own the roadmap and strategy for Scale's Coding portfolio across SFT and preference data, reinforcement learning environments, agentic task suites, and evaluation products.
Extend the SWE-Bench Pro and SWE Atlas franchises and convert benchmark authority into training-data and environment revenue.
Align AI Product Management, ML, Engineering, Operations, and Go-to-Market stakeholders.
Evaluate and operationalize coding product proposals based on customer demand, model capabilities, and company strategy.
Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation and task taxonomy design through pilot, launch, scaling, and sunset decisions.
Partner with ML researchers and senior software engineers on task specifications, rubric and grader design, reward signals, and code-correctness quality standards.
Drive coding infrastructure for container environments, execution sandboxes, reproducible repository images, automated verification, and contributor tooling.
Establish governance for data quality, contamination and leakage prevention, license and IP hygiene, reproducibility, auditability, and release management.
Grow and steward a network of expert software-engineer contributors across languages, frameworks, and seniority levels.
Own external partnerships across open-source benchmarks, enterprise codebases, and joint releases.
Work with frontier AI labs and enterprise customers to understand coding-model failures and guide future investments.
Track adoption, usage, model-impact signals, and business outcomes to guide roadmap and resource decisions.
Identify new coding capability areas, including long-horizon agentic work, repo-scale refactoring, debugging, code review, migrations, and low-resource languages.
Collaborate with Go-to-Market teams on customer engagements, thought leadership, product launches, and strategic partnerships.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in product management, technical program management, consulting, or customer-facing technical roles.
Strong software-engineering technical depth, including the ability to read code and reason about codebases.
Familiarity with coding-model training and evaluation, post-training methods, agentic scaffolds and harnesses, and coding benchmarks such as SWE-Bench and Terminal-Bench.
Experience building and scaling products requiring coordination across engineering, operations, and business teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate ambiguous market and customer signals into product strategy.
Entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of creating products, programs, or business initiatives from the ground up.
Bias for action and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Passion for advancing AI coding capabilities and software-engineering agents.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $205,600–$257,000 USD for eligible full-time roles in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.
Compensation may include equity and benefits, including health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, generous paid time off, and potentially a commuter stipend.
