About the role

Responsibilities

  • Help inspire and equip developers to build with Twilio products and AI technology, ensuring an exceptional developer experience.
  • Be an active participant in the developer community online and offline, serving as the face of Twilio in the Bay Area and North America.
  • Attend, plan, and speak at in-person and virtual events.
  • Write clear, empathetic content that breaks down complex ideas, using stories with code to equip developers.
  • Navigate cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product, and other teams to align with objectives.
  • Drive projects independently from inception to completion, meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate project plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proficient in writing Python, PHP, Node, C# (.NET), or Java with insights into web frameworks.
  • Technical expertise in AI tools, technologies, and platforms.
  • Ability to navigate the AI developer ecosystem and trends.
  • Love of teaching, curiosity about technology.
  • 3-5 years of experience writing production code, with empathy for developers.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with sales, support, product, and marketing.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, data-driven decision-making.
  • Skilled in storytelling to highlight developers building on Twilio.
  • Experience in public speaking, writing, and/or organizing programs.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Bay Area developer community, events, and programs.
  • Familiarity with local AI developer ecosystem through Developer Relations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across organization.
  • Excellent influencing, problem-solving, consensus-building, and communication skills.
  • Experience organizing developer events, meetups, or user groups.

Compensation

Estimated pay ranges (for specific states only):

  • Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington D.C.: $128,560 - $160,700.
  • New York, New Jersey, Washington State, California (outside SF Bay Area): $136,000 - $170,000.
  • San Francisco Bay Area, California: $151,120 - $188,900.
