Paint Lead
Lead and coordinate industrial painting teams applying finishes to metals and manufactured products. Oversee equipment operation, quality control, safety compliance, resource management, and crew training.
About the role
What You'll Be Working On
Equipment Operation: Operating HVLP, Airless, Powder Gun, and brush n roll, to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or manufactured products.
Material Preparation: Mixing paints and other solutions.
Quality & Curing: Monitoring curing to ensure desired results.
Surface Finishing: Completing finishing with baking, polishing or other materials.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring that all painting activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Providing safety training to painting crews, implementing safety protocols, and conducting regular safety inspections.
Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate the activities of painting teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Quality Assurance: Inspect work in progress and finished projects to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Assessing surface preparation, paint application techniques, and color matching.
Resource Management: Managing resources such as paint supplies, equipment, and manpower efficiently. Ordering materials, scheduling equipment maintenance, and allocating manpower as needed.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identifying the root cause of issues during painting projects (adhesion problems, color discrepancies, equipment malfunctions) and implementing effective solutions.
Records & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including work orders, material usage, and labor hours. Prepare reports on project progress, quality, and issues encountered.
Leadership & Training: Provide leadership, guidance, and training to painting crews. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for skills development.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-10 years of general work experience
- Strong organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail
- Ability to lift, lower, push and pull merchandise up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily
- Constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back
- Detail oriented
- Team player willing to take on additional roles as needed
- Maintain good moral character
- Adaptable and flexible to production schedule
- Good attitude and willingness to learn
- Willing to pass drug/alcohol test and background check
