Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of ML/AI products, from initial prototype through production systems serving real customers.
• Build automated models and pipelines that improve data quality, accuracy, and coverage.
• Develop real-time ML/AI systems using traditional machine learning, NLP models, and AI agents on merchant, location, and transaction datasets.
• Build models that are accurate, scalable, robust, and production-ready.
• Partner closely with engineering and product to move ideas from prototype to production and optimize for customer value.
• For senior-level roles, help shape the data science roadmap and priorities in partnership with leadership.
• For senior-level roles, mentor other data scientists and raise team engineering and modeling standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years building and shipping models in Python in a fast-paced environment; 5+ years for senior-level roles.
• Hands-on experience working with engineering and product teams.
• Strong machine learning, statistics, and data fundamentals.
• Experience with PySpark, pandas, and SQL.
• Product mindset and ability to navigate ambiguity while optimizing for customer value.
• Collaborative approach and openness to feedback.
• Familiarity with coding assistants and LLMs as part of an AI-forward workflow.
• Based in NYC with the ability to work from the Flatiron office at least two days per week.

Senior-Level Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with end-to-end ownership of ML/AI products from idea to production.
• Experience shipping customer-facing ML/AI-powered products.
• Track record of mentoring and raising team standards.
