Analytics Engineer

The Analytics Engineer will own OnePay’s analytical data foundation, building trusted dbt models, tests, documentation, dashboards, and semantic metrics on Databricks. The role requires at least three years of analytics engineering experience, expert SQL and dbt skills, strong data-quality practices, and hands-on use of AI coding tools.

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and build production dbt models on Databricks as trusted sources of business data.
  • Support external reporting with accurate, governed data.
  • Own data quality through testing, CI/CD, documentation, and team patterns.
  • Build and evolve Databricks dashboards and semantic metrics for self-service analytics.
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and analytics stakeholders to create durable data products.
  • Drive AI-native workflows using tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, and design models and documentation for both human and LLM consumers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience owning production data models end-to-end.
  • Expert SQL and deep dbt experience, including architecture, incremental models, tests, macros, and CI/CD.
  • Strong Databricks BI or equivalent semantic-layer delivery experience.
  • Daily practical use of AI coding tools, with rigorous output validation.
  • Ability to execute amid ambiguity and operate with a bias toward shipping.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong ownership mentality and willingness to improve team practices.

Technical Environment

  • Node.js and TypeScript with NestJS.
  • Microservice-oriented architecture on Kubernetes and AWS.
  • React Native for iOS, Android, and web platforms.
  • Claude Code or Cursor for AI-assisted development.
