About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage business data pipelines and transform Firefox telemetry data into structured, high-quality datasets.
  • Partner with data scientists, product, and marketing teams to create models and metrics that drive decisions.
  • Ensure data quality using observability tools, monitor performance, and participate in weekly triage rotation.
  • Collaborate with data and platform engineers to evolve the data platform.
  • Implement and enforce data governance and privacy policies across large-scale data systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with eagerness to integrate AI into workflows.
  • Experience in data modeling for complex business processes into extensible analytical models.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: modular, reusable, performant code at scale.
  • Self-directed execution: own projects end-to-end, manage blockers, communicate with team.
  • Strong communication for distributed teams.

Proficiency in one or more:

  • Recommending/implementing new data collection methods.
  • Using data to answer questions and guide decisions.
  • Cloud distributed systems (GCP), distributed databases, message queues, batch/stream processing.
  • Orchestration, error handling, idempotency for data reliability.
