Role Scope
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical power and cooling categories, including high voltage, medium voltage, and modular chiller plants, aligned directly to the forward build pipeline.
Own end-to-end commercial and contractual negotiations at executive level across large-scale supplier relationships, holding position when counterparties push back.
Build and maintain integrated supplier qualification, performance management, and capacity expansion programs across critical equipment categories.
Drive risk framework development that catches supply chain threats before they become schedule problems, and lead value engineering initiatives with suppliers to improve cost and scalability at multi-GW scale.
Partner with engineering, construction, planning, and finance to keep sourcing strategy current against the build pipeline, and influence senior leadership on long-term commercial strategy and investment decisions.
Requirements
- Built category strategies for power or cooling equipment in a hyperscale or large-scale data center environment, and understand the technical and commercial variables that make these categories hard.
- Negotiated complex, high-stakes commercial agreements and held the line when suppliers pushed back, because you had done the analysis and knew where the leverage was.
- Build should-cost models and use data to drive decisions: your analysis changes what the team does, not how the slide looks.
- Built risk frameworks that actually caught something before it hit the schedule, and operate with full ownership, closing gaps without waiting to be asked.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and executive audiences, bringing a room along on a nuanced commercial strategy without losing precision.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience sourcing owner-furnished cooling systems or power generation equipment.
- Track record delivering significant cost avoidance or capital efficiency improvements at multi-GW scale.
- APICS CSCP certification.
