About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work at the interface of print development and materials development to understand and improve Carbon’s additive manufacturing process.
  • Plan and carry out research projects focused on developing new processes and testing methods.
  • Design and execute experimental plans to test how print and bake parameters influence accuracy and material properties.
  • Work with Carbon’s production partners to ensure successful application transfer and scale up (some travel required).
  • Summarize research, write technical reports detailing methods and findings, and present work to other chemists, engineers, and scientists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry, material science, polymer chemistry, or chemical engineering.
  • Previous laboratory experience working with chemistry or materials.
  • Highly motivated, problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to design and execute experimental plans involving materials and/or chemistry.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in proper chemical handling and processing protocols.
  • Experience in material property characterization or dimensional accuracy.

Compensation

  • Annual compensation range: $137,600 - $206,400.
  • Target hire near midpoint of $172,000, adjusted for experience, location, certifications, and skills.
  • Includes equity, benefits, and time off programs.
