Staff Engineer, System Software

Responsibilities

• Capture end-to-end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions.
• Support the design and development of system architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission-level workflows.
• Use model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models for integrations, capabilities, and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain models using UML, SysML, and/or UPDM.
• Create SysML models focused on system decomposition, functional flows, interfaces, and system behavior.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts to improve tooling, automation, and connections between system models and codebases.
• Support the evolution and execution of systems engineering processes across the Australian engineering organization.
• Engage with product management, program management, engineering, and business development teams.
• Report status, risks, accomplishments, and expectations to senior engineering and program leadership.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of systems engineering or related experience with a bachelor's degree; 5 years with a master's degree; 2 years with a PhD; or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, such as systems, software, aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• Experience with systems engineering practices, including writing, structuring, and verifying requirements.
• Experience with MBSE and system-modeling workflows.
• Experience working on cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, methodical, and comfortable managing detailed technical information.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Demonstrated integrity, high standards, teamwork, and professionalism.
