Staff Engineer, Quality Assurance

Responsibilities
- Perform software engineering and quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and execute test cases, regression tests, automated tests, integration tests, and operational tests.
- Verify product performance goals and measures and ensure project requirements are met.
- Document testing activities and maintain software release approval matrices.
- Prepare test environments, including hardware setup, device flashing, software installation, and software execution.
- Complete tasks to schedule, identify potential delays or failures, and communicate risks promptly.
- Collaborate with software engineers and quality assurance engineers to improve software design, testing processes, outcomes, and quality.
- Conduct operational testing on flights in and around Melbourne.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Cross-platform testing experience with Windows and Linux.
- Experience setting up and managing test environments and operating systems.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex software engineering problems independently and collaboratively.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment and contributing to software solutions and automation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of fault-tracking systems.
Nice-to-haves
- ISTQB accreditation.
- Experience with automated testing tools.
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing experience.
- Experience testing and validating real-time embedded software systems.
