Senior Quality Engineer, Advanced Hardware Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Quality point of contact between Program Management, Design Teams, Test Engineering, Supplier Quality, Corporate Quality, Manufacturing, and Risk Management for serialized production of sensor suites (LiDAR, camera, radar).
• Support the establishment of procedures, instructions, and processes to align with international Quality Systems standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 13485).
• Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and create quality documents including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Inspection Reports, Dimensional reports, Functional Test Reports, Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders, Packaging Reports, and Part Submission Warrants in databases such as ETQ, Jira, RGBSI, 3DX, and Internal Quality Logs.
• Develop Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) requirements and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Test Engineering to document testing activities and develop end-of-line test processes.
• Work with engineering, metrology, and Manufacturing to define ideal performance requirements and metrics.
• Hold Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to determine disposition of quarantined units and drive NC/CAPA closure.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive manufacturing/design quality experience setting up and sustaining new complex serialized electro-mechanical manufacturing lines (Automotive, Robotics, Aerospace, Complex Capital Equipment).
• Comfortable multitasking in a start-up-like environment and making risk-based decisions in ambiguous, fast-paced situations.
• Thorough knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of applied statistical analysis using Minitab or similar.
• Expertise in interpreting mechanical drawings using GD&T methodologies.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to handle tight deadlines and competing demands.
• Ability to travel domestically and abroad up to 15%.

Nice-to-Haves

• ASQ CQE/CQA or Certified 6-Sigma Green or Black Belt.
• Experience with sensors such as LiDAR, camera, or sensor assembly inspection using CMMs.
• Experience setting up a QMS from scratch for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 standards.
