Senior Software Engineer, Trading Infrastructure

Build scalable backend services, APIs, indexers, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure powering trading on the Aptos blockchain. The role requires 5+ years of backend experience and strong knowledge of systems programming, distributed systems, databases, and API design.

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to design, build, and optimize backend services and platform infrastructure for the Aptos blockchain.
  • Develop scalable APIs, indexing services, and data pipelines to support trading data access.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure for trading.
  • Write clean, performant, well-tested, production-ready code.
  • Collaborate closely with protocol engineers, infrastructure teams, and product engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping scalable backend systems.
  • Strong experience building backend systems in languages such as Rust, Go, C++, Java, Python, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of systems programming concepts.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, and API design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and code quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with blockchain infrastructure, indexing, or node operations.
  • Web3 experience or familiarity.
  • Background in payments, DeFi, or TradFi.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $150,000–$250,000.
  • The base salary range reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hires based in the Bay Area; individual pay varies by work location, skills, experience, and education or training.
