Responsibilities
- Prepare and review US Federal tax returns and IRS e-filings, focusing on partnership tax returns for venture capital funds and investment vehicles using Carta's proprietary tax engine.
- Collaborate with accounting, fund administration, and compliance teams on tax issues related to products and services.
- Work on team projects including legal and financial tasks, and interact with clients on investment structures.
- Productize tax workflows for speed and accuracy, scale post-deal processes, and leverage technology to automate tax processes.
Requirements
- US Federal tax experience in preparation and filing of tax returns, especially partnership tax returns.
- Fully qualified CPA (or eligible to sit for CPA exam) with knowledge of US tax filings for investment vehicles.
- High attention to detail (written and quantitative), ability to navigate complex tax structures.
- Organized, calm under pressure, strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Passionate about venture capital, able to multitask and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
- Experience leveraging technologies to automate processes.
- Strong communication skills.
