Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and optimization of Android systems that integrate with WHOOP hardware and firmware.
- Build and optimize mobile data pipelines to process hardware and physiological data in near real time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for system performance improvements and process optimization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system accessibility, reliability, and fault tolerance.
- Mentor teammates by sharing technical expertise, guiding architectural decisions, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Ensure operational excellence by maintaining high standards for security, performance, and system reliability.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Android development, with strong experience designing APIs and SDKs.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering principles, including data pipelines, stream processing, and database optimization.
- Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to guide architectural decisions, set best practices, and mentor team members.
- Ability to align technical initiatives with organizational goals, balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability and innovation.
- Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (US Citizens only).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or other wireless communication protocols.
- Experience working with or integrating hardware development tools and workflows.
