Robotics Field Engineer
Operates and troubleshoots robotic factory software and hardware on solar construction sites across the US, assigns field tasks, and collaborates with engineering to improve efficiency. Requires engineering degree, programming/networking familiarity, mechanical troubleshooting skills, and physical resilience for full-time travel.
Responsibilities
- Operating the software that runs our state-of-the-art robotic factory and fleet of delivery vehicles on solar construction sites across the US
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting electromechanical issues that come up while operating the factory in field
- Assigning tasks to field team members to ensure materials are loaded correctly and efficiently into the factory
- Working with the engineering team to improve factory user experience and build efficiency
Requirements
- Available for full-time field travel (per diem stipend provided for housing and food)
- Engineering or technical degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or related field
- Familiar with programming, networking, and command line workflows
- Comfortable doing mechanical troubleshooting of industrial automation hardware (robotic arms, conveyors, motors, actuators)
- Critical thinker and fast learner who can operate effectively in tough physical conditions in field and under pressure
- Resilient, positive attitude and like working on a team
- Follow safety procedures + champion a culture of safety
- Able to lift 50lbs if necessary
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiar with finite-state machines
