About the role

Responsibilities

  • Report to the job site during initial construction and report back to the engineering team as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and monitoring of servers and network in data centers and global points of presence.
  • Rack and stack data center network equipment.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory and asset management using internal application.
  • Label and troubleshoot fiber/optics cables.
  • Handle power supply cabling, installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Install racks, servers, and switches; stage racks, cable, power up, and handoff to provisioning team.
  • Manage, respond, and resolve data center operations tickets via Jira.
  • Create and maintain documentation of tasks and standard operating procedures.
  • Receipt and decommissioning of data center hardware.
  • Vendor returns for infrastructure under and out of warranty.
  • Manage spare parts inventory within the data center.
  • Define, design, and implement network layouts and solutions within data centers.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 2+ years of experience working with server, storage, compute, and network hardware.
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, ordering, receiving, and shipping server and network equipment.
  • Position subject to pre-employment drug and random drug/alcohol testing, and background checks.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Work in tight quarters requiring physical dexterity.
    • Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted.
    • Comfortable working at heights up to 50 feet with safety gear.
    • Comfortable in noisy environments.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends; flexibility required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Linux skills: navigating directories, file manipulation, user permissions, package management, filesystem types, process management, troubleshooting, Bash scripting.
  • Experience being on-call and responding to critical events.
  • Experience leading data center infrastructure projects.
  • Oracle experience.
  • 4+ years in structured cabling (copper/fiber).
  • 4+ years in power and cooling concepts in data centers.
