About the role

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Management to define customer problems, strategy, and measurable outcomes across activation, engagement, and retention.
  • Collaborate with Data and Research to understand funnel drop-offs, retention drivers, and iterate based on insights.
  • Drive the full design process: scoping, prototyping, testing, delivering MVP, iteration, and long-term improvements.
  • Translate regulatory/tax requirements into clear flows, content, and UI patterns that build trust.
  • Craft compelling narratives to align stakeholders on problems, options, and tradeoffs.
  • Provide critique and mentorship to design peers; elevate craft and innovate with AI.
  • Champion and contribute to the design system for cohesion and quality.
  • Use AI for rapid prototyping, testing, and shipping high-fidelity experiences.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product design with portfolio of end-to-end shipped work and impact.
  • High craft bar in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design for complex workflows.
  • AI fluency in design practice: using AI to prototype, test, and ship (must demonstrate).
  • Comfort moving between design and code, or using AI tools to bridge prototype to production.
  • Operate in ambiguity, shape inputs into clear goals and outcomes.
  • Build partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Data.
  • Systems thinker for scalable solutions.
  • Track record leading multi-workstream initiatives.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in regulated domains (fintech, taxes, insurance, healthcare, benefits/retirement).
  • Content design for complex concepts.
  • Contributions to design systems.

Compensation

Cash compensation: $146,000–$183,000/yr (Denver/remote), $177,000–$222,000/yr (SF/Seattle/NY). Strong equity emphasis.
