## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own and build backend services and infrastructure for an observability platform.
- Develop reliable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs.
- Design and implement scalable systems for ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data.
- Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers, address their challenges, and incorporate feedback into backend architecture and API design.
- Create developer tooling and design APIs, SDKs, and client libraries for developers.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, focused on backend development.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, including experience with Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks.
- Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with containerized environments, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience creating developer tooling.
- Passion for open source and developer communities.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Go.
- Experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or other analytical or OLTP databases.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, logging pipelines, or metrics infrastructure.
- Exposure to message queues, streaming systems such as Kafka or NATS, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with SDKs or client library design.
- Experience building developer tools or infrastructure.
